92. Rags to Riches with Karen Pudetti
I'm so thrilled to share this interview with powerhouse spa owner, Karen Pudetti. So many Pilates teachers are struggling to position and scale their businesses in the face of rapidly growing franchises and a glut of new studios. And so many of us burn out because we haven't figured out how to work on our businesses and not just in them.
Spa and salon owners have the same problems! Beauty industry veteran Karen Pudetti joins me today to discuss tips and strategies for starting and growing a Pilates business that serves your clients, your staff, and yourself.
Who Is Karen?
Karen Pudetti was born and raised in upstate New York. She graduated from Nazareth College with an accounting degree and began her career working for a CPA firm in Boston and later joined corporate America. Her work for various Fortune 500 companies, although very interesting, was not fulfilling, and Karen decided to venture out on her own.
She knew at nineteen years old she wanted to be her own boss and work in the beauty industry. She knew that was her true passion. Karen went back to school and received her electrolysis certification, her wax and esthetic licenses. Karen knew she wanted to be a stay-at-home Mom, but also wanted to make a good living for herself and not depend on her husband.
Now Karen owns Luxe Spa in Rochester, NY, where she built and coached a very successful team. She is the author of Rags to Riches: How Beauty Icons Made It Big, and teaches business owners how to create their own success through her Rags to Riches online course.
